Judy Bowden

Founder and CEO

Judy is a mother and a former civil litigation lawyer. She founded Lolly Jar Circus in 2013 to be a haven of inclusion, where all young people would feel safe, happy and accepted. She sees circus skills as the conduit to fun, friendship and fitness. She is constantly blown away by the "Lollies", the skills and sensitivity of the trainers and the dedication and passion of the board.

Jenal Dhar-Raina

Secretary

Jenal is an experienced IT leader with global experience in ICT operations management, services delivery, governance and stakeholder management and has worked in Education, Utilities, Oil & Gas Exploration, Production & Transportation, Facilities & Waste Management, and Telecom industry sectors. She is currently managing IT Services Delivery at Santos on behalf of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). 

Caitlin Thomas

Board member

Caitlin is an experienced people leader and program manager with more than a decade of experience in the education and not-for-profit sectors. Caitlin works at The Smith Family where she provides strategic leadership of two national operations portfolios that benefit thousands of young people each year.

Tracey Corcoran

Board member

Tracey has extensive experience in working alongside infants, children and their families in the public service. In her various clinical, managerial and leadership roles, Tracey has worked in the fields of mental health, disability, child protection and child and family health.

Michael Brown

Chair

Michael is a compassionate and authentic leader who has led state and national teams to deliver meaningful results for government and industry alike. Based on a foundation of knowledge, Michael dedicates himself to creating ecosystems that deliver economical value with increased social outcomes.

Peter Featherston

Treasurer

Peter is a Chartered Accountant with 20 years of experience currently working .as a senior manager at Quantum Accounting. Having worked with clients across various industries and socio-economic backgrounds, Peter strongly believes that accounting is not only about numbers but also having care, empathy and understanding..

Deborah Madigan

Board member

Deborah is the General Manager of Professional Services at Star Pharmacy Group where she works with around 260 pharmacists to deliver the very best in patient care across the group's 60 pharmacies. Until recently she also ran a small family business, Pretty Sticky, which sold specialty tape and hula hoops.

Ian Craig

Board member (parent rep)

Ian has been a member of the board since 2021.  Ian's son Archer began attending LJC in 2017.  Ian is a secondary special options teacher and has been teaching for 21 years.  His understanding of teaching young people with disabilities and the governance issues that go with that is of great benefit to the board.

Joanna Barry-Murphy

Volunteer Manager

Joanna comes to Lolly Jar Circus with a deep passion for youth empowerment through arts. She has experience in strategic planning and coordination of volunteer programs across multiple non-profit organisations. This has included Volunteer Coordinator at Adelaide Fringe and Chief Domestic Operations. As a young person she participated in acrobatics classes for 8 years and deeply appreciates how impactful circus skills can be to developing children’s confidence and creativity.

Toni Gray

Board member (parent rep)

Toni joined the LJC board in 2022 and is the Operations Manager at YLDP.  Toni has decades of knowledge and experience within disability and NDIS, mental health, community services and the justice system. Outside of work, Toni is a busy mum to boys who are always on the go and she loves doing life with her family and friends.


Vicki Jacobs

Board member

Vicki Jacobs is a psychologist by training and has a Master of Business Management. She commenced her career as a computer systems analyst followed by a research psychologist in SAPOL. She then moved into management and consulting roles in the intellectual disability and health sectors, with specialties in women’s health, mental health and Aboriginal health.
